Following the design of the highly successful Urban Golf pilot project in Soho, and a subsequent opening in Smithfields, the practice purchased the company Urban Golf outright in June 2008, to form part of our small-scale development portfolio including Northdown Street and 6 St Chad's Place Bar and Restaurant. We are currently working on a new Urban Golf facility opening at High Street Kensington in March 2010.
Urban Golf is the largest indoor golf facility in the UK, allowing players to swing and putt their way around 52 of the world's greatest golf courses without leaving central London. Simulators and putting greens are provided in sleek and stylish surrounding's including bar and lounge areas. The traditional golf club, with its hidebound associations, has been self-consciously juxtaposed with its hip urban locations. The spaces are enlivened by a series of full height murals, each juxtaposing the themes of golf and urbanity, taking inspiration from their immediate location.
